One shift.
One of the mistakes I made early on in my business was coming from scarcity when someone was interested in coaching.
‘Maybe I won’t get another opportunity like this?’ ‘I need to be coaching more’ ‘Maybe I should charge less to make sure I get this client.’
All that added pressure to the situation and made it less likely that I would show up relaxed and coach well.
It took me a while to learn how to release this pressure and see that really it was one shift.
From a scarcity to abundance mindset.
These are the 4 truths I learnt that create this shift and allow me to attract clients much more effortlessly now…
Separate fact from fiction. The reality is that there are many coaches in Bristol and beyond serving many clients who want to invest in their personal growth and achieve their goals. Focusing on this reality rather than stories created from my limited experience means I can relax and really focus on the needs of the client.
There are always doors opening. As long as we are offering something of value and are out there communicating that, opportunities will appear. I’ve seen clients who are starting out come up with a list of customers for their service they know and think this is who’s going to buy their product, and then slip into perfectionism trying very hard to make sure that these connections become clients.
The truth is that there are many doors we can’t see and don’t know how or when they’ll appear, or which will open. The important thing is to be in motion and allow the universe to do its bit for happenstance.
Everyone is connected. Take that on whatever level you like but thinking in networks rather than individuals means every conversation I have with a potential client I consider that I’m talking to a network of people rather than just the person in front of me. If the conversation has gone well yet coaching is not quite right for this person, then I ask if there is anyone they know who would benefit from my services.
Learning. Each coaching conversation with a potential client is rich with the possibility of learning. I get to learn about the needs of that person and get a better sense of who my audience is. I get to polish how I talk about what I do and experiment with how I can communicate with impact. The truth is now I never come away empty-handed from a conversation with a potential client.
These steps are a continuing journey but coming from a place of abundance means I see the richness of this moment and stops me falling into the trap of over-thinking things and attaching to outcomes.
This is not just a business thing, scarcity can be a mindset that sabotages any opportunities that come up for us, from job interviews to romantic possibilities and other social encounters.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100 certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
